What We Do
Four connected areas of work protecting and empowering women and girls
Global Shepherds is a survivor-centric organisation. Everything we do is guided by the voices of the women and girls we serve, a gender-responsive approach, and a rights-based, community- and strength-based development framework. Our work spans four connected areas — each one strengthening the others.

Shelter & Recovery
We manage a shelter home for women and girls rescued from violence and abuse. Each survivor receives comprehensive, individual case management focused on trauma recovery, access to justice, and safe return and reintegration — complemented by psychosocial support at every step of the journey.
- A safe shelter home for women and girls
- Individual case management and trauma recovery
- Counselling and psychotherapy
- Skills development and livelihood opportunities

Community Awareness
Using our ABC approach — create Awareness, change Behaviours, change Culture — we build shared responsibility for ending violence against women and girls. We work hand in hand with vulnerable communities, especially migrants and refugees, co-designing every programme with the communities it serves. Survivors' lived experiences form the foundation of every campaign.
- Youth Champions in secondary schools
- Youth-for-Youth programmes with universities and colleges
- Break-the-Chain campaign in rural and isolated communities
- Partnerships with religious institutions, trade unions and workplaces

Training & Education
We equip the people survivors meet first — law enforcement, shelter service providers, the private sector and civil society — to respond with trauma-informed care. Our training builds awareness of trauma responses and fosters safer, more supportive environments for survivors seeking protection and justice.
- Trauma-informed training for law enforcement
- Workshops for shelter providers and NGO partners
- Child protection and safeguarding practices
- Prevention of sexual harassment in institutions and workplaces

Research & Advocacy
What we learn on the ground becomes evidence. We conduct research drawing on our shelter, community and training work to understand trafficking and exploitation — informing advocacy that drives policy change and legal reform to better protect survivors, and shaping the training and educational materials we develop.
- Research on trafficking, exploitation and safeguarding
- Advocacy for policy change and legal reform
- Survivor voices brought to the forefront
- Training, educational and advocacy materials
